Limar Helmet

I wanted to design a helmet for a user who commutes for long periods and experiences day and night on their rides. This person would also be fashion-focused so it was important that the form would be visually appealing and comfortable.

Let’s Start Here

For My Beginning ideation phase, I wanted to figure out what a helmet that addresses my problem statement would need. I played with a lot of details and features and figured out what worked and what didn’t. After this stage of ideation, I narrowed down my main three problems to nighttime visibility, airflow, and comfort.

After I figured out my main three problems I wanted to solve, I started to explore how I could approach these problems and have them fit together into a cohesive final design.

Sketching Form

In this phase I had my main features figured out. Knowing this I wanted to flesh out what my form would look like. I wanted to convey a softer form for a more aesthetically interested person. It was also in this stage where I needed to figure out how to have my form emphasize and play well l with my feature set.

Final Form

The final ideation for this project blends form and function into something that caters to nighttime riding while also fitting in with a fashion-forward aesthetic.
